Hullo again Rewilders and friends,
We're happy to report that working bees and events in March and April have gone well. Thanks to everyone who turned up to lend a hand, to passers-by for their interest and to all the lovely Rewilding Stonnington family, friends and donors for your support!
We were delighted to join our Fawkner Park Friends for Neighbour Day on 29 March, honoured to be invited to give a presentation on our work at DEECA's Urban Waterways field day on 28 April - and relieved that after earlier dramas with the trailer, our 'extra' working bee at Windsor Siding Park on 19 April was such a success.
And hasn't it been great to get some rain! although the BoM is still forecasting below average rainfall and above average temperatures through to August for most of Australia.
Despite the dry conditions, we have put in over 450 plants so far this year, with more to come over the next few months.
Don't forget our next working bee is at WM Dane Reserve near Heyington station, 10am - 12 noon this Sunday 17 May!
Working bees will then continue 10am-12 noon on the second and last Sundays of the month May through August, rotating between sites as detailed below.
Please drop us a line at rewildingstonnington@gmail.com if you'd like to be included in our email updates to volunteers.
Schedule changes and other details will also be available on the RS website Activities and Events page as they come to hand.
Do feel free to join us for one or all sessions. New and returning friends are always welcome! |
