Hullo there Rewilders,
We've got a great lineup of working bees and events coming up this month, starting with the first ever working bee at our new site, Birrarung Banks, 10am-12 noon next Sunday 9 August.
As the name suggests, the site is on the river, below St Kevins junior school and just on the City side of the Heyington rail bridge. Our ten year lease with Melbourne Water should give us time to give it the love it needs.
This is a significant opportunity to join with our community partners at The Yarra Link Project and KooyongKoot Alliance, to extend our proposed Kooyong-Yarra River/Birrarung biodiversity corridor and improve habitat in this part of the river catchment.
We are grateful to Traditional Custodians Wurundjeri Woi-Wurrung CHAC for their support and delighted to have input including planting advice from the Narrap Team and a site visit in June from the Birrarung Rangers.
We're also excited to present at the Designing Your Native Nature Strip Garden event at Caulfield Park Pavilion on Sunday 23 August and looking forward to the working bee at Tooronga station on Sunday 30 August.
Please do join us at one or all sessions!
Details below; if you have any questions please feel free to contact us via the RS website or email rewildingstonnington@gmail.com
