Updates:
- Nature Strips:
City of Stonnington’s new online Nature Strip Planting Permit application process is now live! You can find information on the new Nature Strip Planting Policy, access a copy of the Nature Strip Planting Handbook and start an application via the Council website.
If you want to rewild your nature strip but are unsure where to begin, we’re keen to help in any way we can. Check out the Rewilding Stonnington website for examples of previous projects, our revised Nature Strips Guidelines 2024 and other links and resources, or contact us for more information.
- Walks Projects: more news soon! Watch this space ...
In other news:
Winter St: we're super excited that appropriately qualified members can respond to an invitation from Winter St Early Years Service in Malvern, to run a workshop on indigenous plants with the kids. Really looking forward to it!
Windsor Community Children’s Centre: as you may be aware, WCCC is currently being faced with eviction from their premises in Union St Windsor following a rezoning proposal from Swinburne University. The site is important as an early childhood education resource and as valuable green space in a highly urbanised area. Along with parents, staff and friends, Councillors, local members and members of the community, RS supports the Board of the Centre in their efforts to preserve the land for public use. For more information, check out the Save WCCC campaign website.
If you have news items about events or activities in our local area relating to green space, the environment or biodiversity, please do let us know. We're always happy to share.
Growing wilder!
